Re: Sage's Gallery
What he said. Go with some decent 3d renders or even manga renders. Don't use sprites
And I stole that render. I'll be posting something with in in a few days

Re: Sage's Gallery
You should look up on deviantart or planterenders for some more advanced tutorials. It's not shameful, really.
It seems too unrealistic. The insane contrast and the blur put on lighting to create "shininess" does not help either.

Re: Sage's Gallery
You should really try to develop (or copy until you can develop) a style. This way your work won't look random and halfassed. I jack with my style all the time trying to improve and find my own.

Re: Sage's Gallery
Whatever you think but I really suggest you look at some awesome artist's styles, then mimic them. Once you've done this with more than a few, you will know what you like and what you are better at.
I've done dozens of tuts and mimicked people like Gogeta, Lenuq, Devia, and Cryptolo. And I'm still not the best Xd

Re: Sage's Gallery
On the top one, the c4ds don't really blend well with the anime character
Second one is way too empty. The light doesn't bother me, it's that there's nothing in the light.
This one, and I'm sorry for this, has some bad smudging. I suggest using some other brushes for your smudging instead of a regular round brush (sorry if I'm wrong about that)
All in all, you're improving and using decent renders

Re: Sage's Gallery
To be honest, this kind of result :
(There was a much better outcome, but i was lazy to search for it. But you get the point)
Was done with a normal round hard brush.
So yesh... He is sort of wrong
